Marc brings to Fitness Forward 15 years of outstanding growth, financial performance and strong visionary leadership in numerous domestic and international startups and turnarounds.
Most recently, Marc was the COO for Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), the leader in the development of minority business talent and a recent addition to the New Profit portfolio of progressive non-profits. While at MLT, the operating budget doubled and Marc focused on the development of strong business systems necessary to scale the organization. Marc is relatively new to the non-profit sector, but has proven himself dedicated to bringing for profit business practice to non-profit organizations.
From 1992 to 2004, Marc pursued his passion of building brands for retailers, wholesales, manufacturers and other consumer-oriented companies. Over the years Marc has worked with over 25 retailers on their brands and assisted hundreds of manufacturers develop in excess of 1000 new consumer goods. After graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992, Marc joined Daymon Associates and rose from summer intern to General Manager of Austral Asia in 6 years. In 1996 Marc was asked to head up Daymon’s expansion into Australia. Two years later as Director of Dairy Farm International (DFI, $ 6.5B in Sales), a leading pan-Asian food and drugstore retailer, Marc managed a $ 500 M corporate brand program. His prime initiative was the re-engineering and re-launch of the First Choice brand into all 8 Austral Asian countries DFI operates in. Upon returning to the America, Marc joined Stravina LLC as Vice President of Sales and Business Development and was part of the management / due diligence team for the acquisition of two companies that contributed to the more than doubling of the company from M to M.
Marc graduated from Babson College with a BS in Marketing, Finance and Economics and received a MBA from Harvard Business School. While in Asia, Marc oversaw the opening of offices in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. With family roots in Boston, Marc is excited to be back living and working in Boston for the first time since 1992.
