Emily Boer Drake is an Associate Consultant at LaFrance Associates, LLC (LFA) in San Francisco, CA. Prior to LFA she was a management consultant at Technical Development Corporation (TDC) in Boston where she focused on providing strategic planning services and technical assistance to a variety of clients throughout New England. Her work included strategic planning for Boston’s largest performing arts organization, a merger feasibility analysis for two museums, sustainability planning for after-school programs, managing the grant making process for a new initiative in the Boston Public Schools, and analyzing data for a study on the use of long-term debt in local nonprofit organizations. Emily also worked at the Central New York Community Foundation, where she reviewed proposals and coordinated school-based initiatives in Syracuse, NY. Her work at LFA has included managing an evaluation of an environmental education program for elementary students, researching best practices in the area of job training and education for disadvantaged youth, reporting on a multi-year evaluation for the California Nurses Foundation, and serving as project manager for several projects in the area of homelessness. Emily has a BA in Art History and Psychology from Williams College and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
Emily enjoys practicing Ashtanga yoga, downhill skiing, hiking and mountain biking. She believes that fitness can easily and happily be incorporated into one’s daily life. She was a coxswain for the Williams College Men’s Crew and enjoys returning each fall to compete in the Head of the Charles with an alumni boat.
